Placer PTC has partnered with STAR to develop an art enrichment program that includes a combination of theory, hands on practice and art history. Funded jointly by the PTC and Loomis Basin Education Foundation (LBEF), this program will benefit ALL Placer students.
TK-2nd 60 minute classes
3rd-8th 90 minute classes
Projects will be differentiated for grade levels, but the basic project will be the same.
Dick Woolery is a 10 year dedicated art teacher for the STAR and STAR NOVA programs. Dick has worked with children for the last 14years of his life, while going to school himself to advance his early childhood educational skills and artistic ability. He has achieved a certificate in ECE (Early childhood Education) as well as a certificate of advanced achievement in the art field. Along with his educational background, he has also achieved advancements in his personal artistic career in Sacramento and the state of California by being involved in multiple group showings in various recognized art galleries and solo art exhibitions. Dick Woolery has sold his personal graphic art, clothing designs and fine artwork such as paintings, drawings, sketches, and much more, to various art collectors in California. Along with selling and teaching, Dick has also worked in various art galleries organizing, setting up, and curating adult and children’s art shows for the past 10 years, always continually striving to bring his love of art to the children he teaches and the community he displays his artwork for. Dick’s dedication and love for art definitely shows in the lessons he plans, the art he makes and the smiles on the children’s faces that he teaches.
